About The Flagon
The Flagon is a meeting place for adventurers, convention-goers, and tabletop fans. Built with love to make event discovery easier and more fun.
The idea for The Flagon has been around for years (in various forms) - it started as a conversation among friends who were juggling work, family life, and the occasional game night. For a long time, we didn't have the time or energy to build it properly. But as life settled a little, we found ourselves getting back into gaming, visiting conventions, and looking for events to attend.
We soon realised there still wasn't a single, central place to find tabletop events in the UK. At one point, the most reliable list we could find was a useful (great actually) Google Doc. That felt like something we could improve. In fact, we've been speaking to the persons behind the Google Doc to help make this resource better.
Our small team brings a mix of experience: the primary developer has been building apps and websites since the late 1980s, and the rest of the group bring skills in design, testing, and content - but more importantly, we're all active gamers who understand the community.
The Flagon isn't backed by any companies or sponsors. It's an independent project, made by people who genuinely care about helping the hobby grow. We're taking feedback as we go, and always keeping accessibility, usability, and community at the core.
Long term, we want The Flagon to become the go-to place where players find games, events, and conventions - whether nearby or far enough to turn into an adventure. We also aim to make it the best possible platform for event organisers to share what they're running. We'll keep evolving the site to better connect people with games, organisers, and events that matter to them.
